Module: ACC-MIB

OID (symbolic): ACC-MIB::accXnsPortHopCnts

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.21.6.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter

Access: read-only

Description:

The number of packets received on this port whose hop count had reached the maximum value.

What is accXnsPortHopCnts?

This counter tracks packets arriving on this port that had a hop count at or near the maximum allowed value, indicating they traversed many network segments. High counts can indicate routing loops or inefficient paths; network engineers use this to optimize routing configuration. A value of 250 means the device saw 250 packets where the hop counter maxed out, suggesting they may be caught in loops.
