accBrFdbLearnMode
Module: ACC-FLASH
OID (symbolic): ACC-FLASH::accBrFdbLearnMode
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.4.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description:
When Learning Mode is active, Bridges update their Forwarding Database with dynamic entries learned by inspection of the Source MAC Address of received frames. When learning mode is off, Bridges discard packets which are not indicated as forward in their Forwarding Database.
What is accBrFdbLearnMode?
This OID controls whether the bridge actively learns and updates its forwarding database when it sees source MAC addresses on incoming frames. Network engineers enable this during normal operation so the bridge can dynamically discover which devices are on which ports, and disable it in locked-down environments where only pre-configured entries should forward traffic. For example, setting learning mode to 'on' allows the bridge to automatically discover new devices, while 'off' means only static entries in the FDB will forward frames.
