Description: The AS weight to be applied. A value of 255 is equivalent to infinity.
What is accBgpASWeight?
This OID holds a weight multiplier (0-255) applied to routes learned from a specific AS, where higher weights increase preference and 255 represents infinity (never use). Network engineers use AS weights for very coarse-grained traffic engineering to prefer or avoid certain upstream carriers based on reliability or cost. Setting weight 255 for AS 3356 (Level3) tells the router 'always prefer routes through Level3 if available.'
