What is oVpAtmPppRetryCount?

This OID defines the maximum number of times the device will attempt to re-establish a failed PPP connection over ATM before giving up. Network engineers tune this to prevent infinite reconnection loops while ensuring resilience for flaky links, especially in WAN environments. For example, a value of 10 means the device will try up to 10 times before declaring the link permanently down and raising an alarm.
