a3ComSysSmtFddiStationModeRequestedMode

Module: A3COM-SWITCHING-SYSTEMS-SMT-MIB

OID (symbolic): A3COM-SWITCHING-SYSTEMS-SMT-MIB::a3ComSysSmtFddiStationModeRequestedMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.43.29.4.9.10.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Indicates the requested mode for a given port pair. A value of 1 indicates a request for SAS(M) for the corresponding pair. A value of 2 indicates SAS(S) and a value of 3 indicates DAS. It should be noted that if requested mode is different than current mode a reboot is required to enable the requested mode. NOTE: reboot can be accomplished using a3ComSysSystemAction.

What is a3ComSysSmtFddiStationModeRequestedMode?

This read-write integer (1, 2, or 3) stores the desired topology mode for an FDDI port pair that will take effect after a reboot. Network engineers set this to reconfigure redundancy—switching from SAS to DAS or vice versa—then reboot the port pair to apply changes. A value of 3 requests dual-attach mode on reboot.
