Module: A3COM-SWITCHING-SYSTEMS-MIB

OID (symbolic): A3COM-SWITCHING-SYSTEMS-MIB::a3ComSysAgentProxyRemoteSmtEvents

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.43.29.4.6.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object determines if this agent will generate traps for SMT events occuring at other stations. If the value of this object is true(1), this agent will generate traps for all SMT events, those which occur locally, and those which occur at other stations. If the value of this object is false(2), this agent will only generate traps for events which occur locally. Note that only a subset of the above values may be valid for some systems.

What is a3ComSysAgentProxyRemoteSmtEvents?

This read-write INTEGER flag controls whether the agent generates SMT (Switch Management Traps) for remote stations or only local events. When set to true(1), all SMT events from any station trigger traps; when false(2), only local events do. A network manager would enable this to monitor fabric health across all connected stations in a switching system.
