What is portType?
This OID reports the physical or logical type of a network port (enumerated integer values). Knowing whether a port is Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit, or another type determines bandwidth expectations and helps identify port classification errors. A value might indicate 'hundredBaseTX' for standard 100 Mbps twisted-pair capability.
