a3ComPortDialBODTHreshold

Module: A3COM-PORTPATH-R6-MIB

OID (symbolic): A3COM-PORTPATH-R6-MIB::a3ComPortDialBODTHreshold

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.43.2.19.2.1.15

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: %BODTHreshold% This object specifies the level of sensitivity to bring up a BOD path for a port. The larger BODTHreshold value, the less sensitive to bring up BOD path. For DOD port, when the BODTHreshold is set to 0, the BOD path and the primary path are treated as one path. The port will bring the two paths up and down together.

Note, when this parameter is enabled/disabled, the port itself must be disabled and then re-enabled for the new value to take effect. This is done by setting the cirresponding instance of ifAdminStatus to up(1).

What is a3ComPortDialBODTHreshold?

This configurable threshold (0-100) controls how aggressively the port initiates backup-on-demand secondary paths—higher values mean less sensitivity to triggering backup. Engineers adjust it to balance link redundancy against unnecessary dial-ups, avoiding costly backup activations for minor load spikes. Setting it to 0 treats primary and backup paths as one, bringing both up and down together.
