Description: This object applies to ARP requests for networks or subnetworks that are in the IP routing table. When this is the case, this system will respond to the request with the MAC address of this system's interface if the value of this object is proxy (1). Otherwise, no ARP response is sent.
This object corresponds to the UI parameter: -arp control
What is a3IParpProxyCtl?
This read-write integer controls proxy ARP globally for subnets in the routing table. Setting it to 1 (proxy) causes the device to answer ARP requests for remote networks; 2 (no proxy) blocks responses. This helps devices behind firewalls or gateways appear directly reachable to remote subnets.
