zyTrtcmMode
Module: ZYXEL-TRTCM-MIB
OID (symbolic): ZYXEL-TRTCM-MIB::zyTrtcmMode
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.890.1.15.3.85.1.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: Enter colorBlind to have the switch treat all incoming packets as uncolored. All incoming packets are evaluated against the CIR and PIR. Enter colorAware to treat the packets as marked by some preceding entity. Incoming packets are evaluated based on their existing color. Incoming packets that are not marked proceed through the switch.
What is zyTrtcmMode?
This read-write object selects whether TRTCM operates in colorBlind mode, evaluating every incoming packet fresh against the CIR and PIR regardless of any prior marking, or colorAware mode, which respects a packet's existing color marking from an upstream device. Admins choose colorAware in a network where an upstream device has already classified traffic and this switch should honor that classification rather than re-evaluate it, and colorBlind when this switch is the first point of classification. Setting zyTrtcmMode to colorAware(0) at a downstream aggregation switch would let it respect the green, yellow, or red marking already applied by an upstream access switch rather than reclassifying traffic from scratch.
