zyAggregationGroupCriteria

Module: ZYXEL-LAG-MIB

OID (symbolic): ZYXEL-LAG-MIB::zyAggregationGroupCriteria

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.890.1.15.3.42.1.3.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Outgoing traffic distribution type. Packets from the same source and/or to the same destination are sent over the same link within the trunk. By default, the switch uses the srcDstMac distribution type. If the switch is behind a router, the packet's destination or source MAC address will be changed. In this case, set the switch to distribute traffic based on its IP address to make sure port trunking can work properly.

What is zyAggregationGroupCriteria?

This selects the load-balancing algorithm used to distribute outgoing traffic across the physical links in a trunk group. Admins choose an IP-based distribution method instead of the default MAC-based one when the switch sits behind a router that rewrites source or destination MAC addresses, to keep traffic properly spread across trunk members. A switch behind a router experiencing uneven trunk utilization might have its zyAggregationGroupCriteria changed from srcDstMac to srcDstIp to better balance traffic.
