What Is ZYXEL-IGMP-SNOOPING-MIB?

ZYXEL-IGMP-SNOOPING-MIB is a ZyXEL enterprise MIB covering the subtree for IGMP snooping, the switch feature that inspects IGMP join/leave messages to forward multicast traffic only to ports with interested receivers rather than flooding it everywhere. It exposes configuration data (enabling/disabling snooping per VLAN, querier settings) plus dynamic operational data such as the learned multicast group membership per port/VLAN. This gives it clear value for monitoring software-level status: administrators can verify which ports actively belong to which multicast groups in real time, helping diagnose IPTV/streaming delivery problems or unexpected multicast flooding. It is closely related to the ZyXEL IGMP filter MIB, since filtering policies act on groups this MIB discovers, and it builds on standard VLAN and IF-MIB port-indexing conventions. It is deployed on ZyXEL Layer 2 access switches carrying IP multicast traffic such as IPTV, video conferencing, or market-data feeds. Monitoring Examples
