Module: ZYXEL-DHCPV6-MIB

OID (symbolic): ZYXEL-DHCPV6-MIB::zyDhcpv6RelayOptionRemoteIdData

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.890.1.15.3.21.1.2.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-write

Description: Set the switch to add the remote-ID option in the DHCPv6 requests from the clients in the specified VLAN before the switch forwards them to a DHCP server. This also specifies a string (up to 64 printable ASCII characters) to be carried in the remote-ID option. If this field is empty means this option is disabled.

What is zyDhcpv6RelayOptionRemoteIdData?

This object configures the switch to add a remote-ID option, carrying a string of up to 64 printable ASCII characters, to DHCPv6 requests from clients in the specified VLAN before forwarding them to the DHCP server; an empty string disables this option. Admins set this string so the DHCP server can identify the relaying switch or VLAN context for policy decisions, such as VLAN-specific address pools. For example, an admin might set this to a string identifying the switch's location so the DHCP server can allocate addresses from the correct pool for that site.
