wwpRadiusClientPendingRequests

Module: WWP-RADIUS-CLIENT-MIB

OID (symbolic): WWP-RADIUS-CLIENT-MIB::wwpRadiusClientPendingRequests

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6141.2.11.1.1.3.1.12

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Gauge32

Access: read-only

Description: The number of RADIUS Access-Request packets destined for this server that have not yet timed out or received a response. This variable is incremented when an Access-Request is sent and decremented due to receipt of an Acess-Accept, Access-Reject or Access-Challenge, a timeout or retransmission.

What is wwpRadiusClientPendingRequests?

This read-only Gauge32 reports how many RADIUS Access-Request packets sent to this server are currently outstanding, awaiting either a response or a timeout. Admins monitor it to detect a server that's falling behind, since a persistently high or growing pending-request count suggests the server can't keep up with the authentication load being sent to it. For example, if wwpRadiusClientPendingRequests stays elevated during a login storm, the admin might add a second RADIUS server or increase wwpRadiusClientTimeout to reduce redundant retransmissions.
