wwpRadiusClientAuthKey

Module: WWP-RADIUS-CLIENT-MIB

OID (symbolic): WWP-RADIUS-CLIENT-MIB::wwpRadiusClientAuthKey

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6141.2.11.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-write

Description: The Auth Key to be used for Radius Servers. Retrieving the value of this object via SNMP will return an empty string for security reasons.

What is wwpRadiusClientAuthKey?

This read-write OCTET STRING, 8 to 127 bytes, is the shared secret key used to authenticate and encrypt communication with the configured RADIUS servers. For security, reading this object via SNMP always returns an empty string rather than the actual key, so admins can set it but never retrieve it back over SNMP, meaning a mismatched key must be diagnosed indirectly rather than by comparing values. For example, an admin rotating the shared secret sets wwpRadiusClientAuthKey to a new value matching what was configured on the RADIUS server, then verifies success by confirming wwpRadiusClientBadAuthenticators stops incrementing.

Examples

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> WWP-RADIUS-CLIENT-MIB::wwpRadiusClientAuthKey

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6141.2.11.1.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> WWP-RADIUS-CLIENT-MIB::wwpRadiusClientAuthKey.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6141.2.11.1.1.4.1 s <value>
