wwpIpInterfaceEnable

Module: WWP-IP-INTERFACE-MIB

OID (symbolic): WWP-IP-INTERFACE-MIB::wwpIpInterfaceEnable

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6141.2.17.1.1.2.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: The status of each interface. A value of true(1) indicates that this interface is enabled and a value of false(2) indicates that this interface is disabled. The device shouldn't allow the Management Station to disable all the interfaces available on the box.

What is wwpIpInterfaceEnable?

This object enables or disables a given interface: true(1) means enabled, false(2) means disabled, with the source description noting the device should not allow a management station to disable all interfaces on the box (which would cut off management access entirely). Admins use this to administratively shut down an interface that isn't in use or needs to be taken out of service. Setting wwpIpInterfaceEnable to false(2) on an unused interface disables it, though the device should refuse this action if it's the last remaining enabled interface.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6141.2.17.1.1.2.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> WWP-IP-INTERFACE-MIB::wwpIpInterfaceEnable

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6141.2.17.1.1.2.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> WWP-IP-INTERFACE-MIB::wwpIpInterfaceEnable.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6141.2.17.1.1.2.1.1.1 s <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> wwpIpInterfaceEnable.1
