What Is WTCS?
The WTCS MIB is the SNMP MIB for Informant Systems' third-party Windows SNMP extension agent, which augments a standard Windows SNMP service with visibility into system health that Microsoft's native agent does not expose. It covers general categories such as CPU utilization, memory and disk usage, system temperature (where supported by hardware sensors), and other Windows performance-counter-derived metrics, all registered under the vendor's "informant" enterprise subtree. Its explicit purpose is hardware and software status monitoring of the Windows host: it is used to track CPU load, disk space/utilization, temperature readings, and general system performance counters that indicate whether a Windows server is healthy or under strain. It depends on the underlying Windows SNMP service and performance-counter subsystem that the Informant agent extension taps into, translating native Windows metrics into standard SNMP-pollable objects. It is deployed on Windows servers monitored by traditional SNMP-based network management systems that need OS-level health data without a Windows-native management protocol.

Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
Only the top-level "informant" enterprise OID node was provided as a sample object, so specific table or scalar names cannot be cited without inventing them; however, based on the module's stated purpose, an administrator would poll objects under the informant subtree to check CPU load, available disk space, and system temperature on a monitored Windows server. A sudden spike in CPU utilization or a temperature reading climbing toward a threshold, surfaced through this agent, would indicate the server needs attention before a hardware or performance failure occurs.
