Module: VPN-PERFORMANCE-MIB

OID (symbolic): VPN-PERFORMANCE-MIB::vpnPerformanceIfLostPackets

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.9929.1.1.1.1.6

Type: Counter32

Access: read-only

Description: The counting threshold used to compare the number of lost packet values against.

What is vpnPerformanceIfLostPackets?

This read-only Counter32 tracks lost performance-probe packets against the configured counting threshold used to decide when a packet-loss alarm should fire on this VPN tunnel. Admins watch it to detect a degrading or unreliable tunnel path before end users start reporting problems. For example, a rising vpnPerformanceIfLostPackets count on a site-to-site tunnel would prompt the admin to investigate the underlying WAN path for congestion or a flapping link.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.9929.1.1.1.1.6
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> VPN-PERFORMANCE-MIB::vpnPerformanceIfLostPackets

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.9929.1.1.1.1.6.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> VPN-PERFORMANCE-MIB::vpnPerformanceIfLostPackets.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> vpnPerformanceIfLostPackets.1
