usrTracerouteDestination

Module: USR-TRACEROUTE-MIB

OID (symbolic): USR-TRACEROUTE-MIB::usrTracerouteDestination

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.429.4.40.2.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: UsrDisplayString

Access: read-write

Description: The host name or IP address (in dot notation) of the target destination being traced by this row. A row cannot be activated unless this object has a length greater than zero. Router DNS services will always be used to resolve (names) and/or verify addresses in dot notation. If DNS fails, the object usrTracerouteRowState will indicate 'dnsFailed' or 'badAddress'. This object cannot be modified whenever usrTracerouteRowStatus is 'active'.

What is usrTracerouteDestination?

This object holds the host name or dotted-decimal IP address that this traceroute row targets, and cannot be modified while the row is active. Admins set this to the host they want to trace network hops to, such as during a connectivity troubleshooting session. Setting it to '10.0.0.1' would target that address once the row is activated.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.429.4.40.2.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> USR-TRACEROUTE-MIB::usrTracerouteDestination

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.429.4.40.2.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> USR-TRACEROUTE-MIB::usrTracerouteDestination.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.429.4.40.2.1.2.1 s <value>
