usrPPPBundleTxNonEncryptPkts

Module: USR-PPPML-MIB

OID (symbolic): USR-PPPML-MIB::usrPPPBundleTxNonEncryptPkts

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.429.4.11.2.1.1.25

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter32

Access: read-only

Description: The total number of packets received from an upper layer application for transmission over this bundle that were NOT encrypted by the PPP application before handing the packet (or fragments) down to the lower layer application. The value of this object is meaningful only when the link has reached the open state (usrPPPBundleOperStatus is up). Note that this counter only represents packets that were candidates for encryption over the BUNDLE (not links). If link encryption was enabled (multilink), the non- encrypted packet counters can be found at the link level.

What is usrPPPBundleTxNonEncryptPkts?

Counter32 giving the number of outbound packets at the bundle level that were candidates for encryption but were NOT encrypted; meaningful only once the bundle is open. A nonzero value here on a session expected to be fully encrypted is worth investigating as a possible security gap.
