usrPingCFMStatusFlag

Module: USR-PING-MIB

OID (symbolic): USR-PING-MIB::usrPingCFMStatusFlag

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.429.4.36.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: UsrConfigStatus

Access: read-write

Description: Setting the value of this object to `save' causes the values of the Ping Group to be written out to the current config file, which is stored in the cfgPingFile object. While the new ConfigFile is being written, the Ping process will set the value of this flag set to `saving''. Any attempts to set the value while it is not `normal' (i.e. the file is currently being written to the ConfigFile) while result in a badValue error being returned. Setting the value to `normal' will result in no action.

What is usrPingCFMStatusFlag?

This read-write UsrConfigStatus value controls saving the Ping group's settings to the device's config file: setting it to save triggers a write, the process reports saving while the write is in progress, and any set attempt while not normal returns a badValue error. An admin uses this to persist changes made to the busy-out ping table so they survive a reboot. For example, an admin sets usrPingCFMStatusFlag to save after adding new ping targets, then polls it until it returns to normal to confirm the write completed.
