usrIgmpTrafficAffectInactivity

Module: USR-IGMP-MIB

OID (symbolic): USR-IGMP-MIB::usrIgmpTrafficAffectInactivity

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.429.4.53.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object is used to allow the system to treat IGMP traffic over PPP links as background traffic. If this switch is enabled then IGMP traffic will be treated as background traffic and idle timeout functionality will ignore this traffic. If this switch is disabled the IGMP multicast traffic will be treated as regular traffic and connection will not be dropped.

What is usrIgmpTrafficAffectInactivity?

This read-write value controls whether IGMP traffic over PPP links counts toward the link's idle-timeout: enabled treats IGMP as background traffic that idle-timeout ignores, while disabled treats it as regular traffic that keeps the connection alive. Enable this on a dial/PPP link where you don't want routine multicast query/report chatter to prevent the link from idling down.
