usrAtm1483PvcCFMStatusFlag

Module: USR-ATM-1483-PVC-MIB

OID (symbolic): USR-ATM-1483-PVC-MIB::usrAtm1483PvcCFMStatusFlag

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.429.4.47.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: UsrConfigStatus

Access: read-write

Description: Setting the value of this object to `save' causes the values of the ATM ARP MIB objects to be written out to the current config file, which is stored in the usrIpoaArpConfigFileName object. While the new ConfigFile is being written, ATM ARP will set the value of this flag to `saving''. Any attempts to set the value while it is not `normal' (i.e. the file is currently being written to the ConfigFile) while result in a badValue error being returned. Setting the value to `normal' will result in no action.

What is usrAtm1483PvcCFMStatusFlag?

This read-write value controls saving of the ATM ARP MIB objects to the device's config file: setting it to save(x) triggers a write, the device reports saving while the write is in progress, and any write attempt while the flag isn't normal returns a badValue error; setting it to normal is a no-op. Admins use it to explicitly commit PVC and ARP configuration changes to persistent storage rather than relying only on an implicit save. An admin who just finished adding several PVC entries would set this to save so the changes survive a reboot.
