vlanPortType

Module: TPLINK-DOT1Q-VLAN-MIB

OID (symbolic): TPLINK-DOT1Q-VLAN-MIB::vlanPortType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11863.6.14.1.1.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: 0.ACCESS:The ACCESS port can be added in a single VLAN,and the egress rule of the port is UNTAG. The PVID is same as the current VLAN ID. If the current VLAN is deleted,the PVID will be set to 1 by default. 1.TRUNK:The TRUNK port can be added in multiple VLANs, and the egress rule of the port is TAG. The PVID can be set as the VID number of any VLAN the port belongs to. 2.GENERAL:The GENERAL port can be added in multiple VLANs and set various egress rules according to the different VLANs. The default egress rule is UNTAG. The PVID can be set as the VID number of any VLAN the port belongs to.

What is vlanPortType?

This object sets a port's VLAN membership mode: access(0), where the port belongs to a single VLAN and sends all traffic untagged with PVID tied to that VLAN (reverting to VLAN 1 if that VLAN is deleted); trunk(1), where the port belongs to multiple VLANs and sends all traffic tagged; or general(2), where the port belongs to multiple VLANs with per-VLAN tagging rules configurable, defaulting to untagged. Admins choose access for end-user device ports, trunk for switch-to-switch uplinks carrying multiple VLANs, and general for more complex mixed tagging scenarios. Setting vlanPortType to trunk(1) on an inter-switch uplink port allows it to carry tagged traffic for multiple VLANs simultaneously.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11863.6.14.1.1.1.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> TPLINK-DOT1Q-VLAN-MIB::vlanPortType

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11863.6.14.1.1.1.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> TPLINK-DOT1Q-VLAN-MIB::vlanPortType.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11863.6.14.1.1.1.1.2.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> vlanPortType.1
