Module: TOS-SYSSTATE

OID (symbolic): TOS-SYSSTATE::adminOnline

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.14331.5.5.1.4.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

What is adminOnline?

adminOnline reports the count of administrator users currently logged into the Topsec device's management interface. Admins can poll this to detect unexpected concurrent management sessions, which could indicate unauthorized access or a forgotten open session. For example, a value of 2 would mean two admin accounts are simultaneously logged into the device's management console.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.14331.5.5.1.4.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> TOS-SYSSTATE::adminOnline

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.14331.5.5.1.4.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> TOS-SYSSTATE::adminOnline.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> adminOnline.1

Start monitoring TOPSEC firewall/UTM security appliance (process health/HA cluster status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Create custom SNMP monitor using the TOS-SYSSTATE::adminOnline OID value, configure state conditions and alerts, and monitor any TOPSEC firewall/UTM security appliance (process health/HA cluster status) from a single console.

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Select a TOPSEC firewall/UTM security appliance (process health/HA cluster status) as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type adminOnline into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, then select it and click OK. It reports how many admin user loged on the system. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is an Integer32-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the value drifts significantly from its normal baseline, since an unexpected change often points to a real underlying issue. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
