What is idsUdpflood?

This counter tracks the total number of UDP flood attacks the Topsec IDS has detected, a denial-of-service technique that overwhelms a target with a high volume of UDP packets. An admin monitors this counter to catch bandwidth-exhaustion or resource-exhaustion attacks against UDP-based services. For example, a spike in idsUdpflood detections directed at a DNS or VoIP server would prompt the admin to investigate and potentially rate-limit the offending traffic.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.14331.5.5.1.11.16
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> TOS-IDS::idsUdpflood

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.14331.5.5.1.11.16.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> TOS-IDS::idsUdpflood.1
