swTimeCapacity

Module: TIME-MIB

OID (symbolic): TIME-MIB::swTimeCapacity

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.10.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Bits

Access: read-only

Description: Indicates the time capacity supported in the system . If sntp bit is 1 , indicate the SNTP is supported else if sntp bit is 0, the SNTP is not supported and the subtree swSNTP will not supported also. If summerTime bit is 1 ,indicate the SummerTime is supported else if sntp bit is 0, the SummerTime is not supported and the subtree swSummerTime will not supported also. If realTimeClock bit is 1 , indicate the real time clock is supported else if the bit is 0, the real time clock is not supported .

What is swTimeCapacity?

This BITS value reports which time-related capabilities this switch supports: system time, SNTP, summer time, and a real-time clock; if the sntp or summerTime bit is off, the corresponding swSNTP or swSummerTime subtree isn't supported either. Admins check it before attempting to configure SNTP or summer-time settings, to confirm the hardware actually supports those features. If swTimeCapacity doesn't have the sntp(1) bit set, an admin knows attempting to configure the swSNTP subtree on that switch won't work.

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.10.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> TIME-MIB::swTimeCapacity

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.10.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> TIME-MIB::swTimeCapacity.1
