swCurrentClock

Module: TIME-MIB

OID (symbolic): TIME-MIB::swCurrentClock

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.10.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DateAndTime

Access: read-write

Description: The current local date and time for the system. Setting this object is equivalent to setting an automated clock and calendar. The value of the object will track the date and time from the value set. Note that due to hardware limitations some systems may not be able to preserve such meaning across reboots of the system, as indicated by swClockLostOnReboot. A constant value of all zeros and length 8 indicates the system is not aware of the present date and time. This object may be read-only on some systems.

What is swCurrentClock?

This value is the switch's current local date and time, settable like an automated clock and calendar; a value of all zeros and length 8 means the system doesn't know the current date and time, and on some systems this object may be read-only. Admins set it to manually configure the switch's clock when SNTP isn't available or hasn't yet synchronized. Setting swCurrentClock manually is a fallback an admin uses when the switch has no SNTP server reachable to auto-sync its time.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.10.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> TIME-MIB::swCurrentClock

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.10.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> TIME-MIB::swCurrentClock.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.10.2.1 s <value>
