Normal(1): The hard disk functions normally. Initialized(2): The hard disk has system partition but no data. NotInitialized(3): The hard disk does not have system in system partition. SystemPartitionFailed(4): The system partitions on the hard disks are damaged. Crashed(5): The hard disk has damaged.

What is diskStatus?

This object reports the health state of a physical disk in a Synology NAS, using one of five defined values ranging from Normal, meaning the disk functions correctly, through Initialized or NotInitialized, to SystemPartitionFailed or Crashed, meaning the disk has failed. An administrator monitors this value to catch failing drives before they cause data loss, especially in a RAID array where a single crashed disk still leaves the array degraded but functional. For example, diskStatus reporting Crashed(5) for a bay would trigger an immediate alert to replace that drive and let the RAID array rebuild.
