swFdbStaticPortMap

Module: SW-FDB-MIB

OID (symbolic): SW-FDB-MIB::swFdbStaticPortMap

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.20.1.2.2.2.28.2.9.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: PortList

Access: read-write

Description: The set of ports to which frames received containing the value of swFdbStaticAddress as the DA, are allowed to be forwarded. Each octet within the value of this object specifies a set of eight ports, with the first octet specifying ports 1 through 8, the second octet specifying ports 9 through 16, etc. Within each octet, the most significant bit represents the lowest numbered port, and the least significant bit represents the highest numbered port. Thus, each port of the bridge is represented by a single bit within the value of this object. If that bit has a value of '1' then that port is included in the set of ports; the port is not included if its bit has a value of '0'.(Note that the setting of the bit corresponding to the port from which a frame is received is irrelevant.)

What is swFdbStaticPortMap?

This bitmap object specifies the set of ports that frames destined for the address in swFdbStaticAddress are allowed to be forwarded out of, with each bit representing one port across the encoded octets. Administrators configure it to hard-pin a MAC address to a specific set of egress ports rather than relying on dynamic MAC learning. For example, setting only the bit for port 4 restricts frames destined for that static MAC address to be forwarded solely out of port 4, regardless of what the switch might otherwise learn.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.20.1.2.2.2.28.2.9.1.1.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> SW-FDB-MIB::swFdbStaticPortMap

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.20.1.2.2.2.28.2.9.1.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> SW-FDB-MIB::swFdbStaticPortMap.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.20.1.2.2.2.28.2.9.1.1.3.1 s <value>
