usecStatsBadParameters

Module: SNMPv2-USEC-MIB

OID (symbolic): SNMPv2-USEC-MIB::usecStatsBadParameters

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.6.3.6.1.2.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter32

Access: read-only

Description: The total number of packets received by the SNMPv2 entity which were dropped because the field was improperly encoded or had invalid syntax.

What is usecStatsBadParameters?

This is a cumulative count of packets dropped because their USM security parameters field was improperly encoded or had invalid syntax. An admin checks this for buggy or incompatible SNMP client implementations sending malformed security headers. For example, a legacy polling tool sending corrupt USM parameter encoding would drive this counter up over time.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.6.3.6.1.2.6
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> SNMPv2-USEC-MIB::usecStatsBadParameters

Get a specific instance (index 1):
