Module: SNMPv2-USEC-MIB

OID (symbolic): SNMPv2-USEC-MIB::agentID

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.6.3.6.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: AgentID

Access: read-only

Description: The agent's administratively-unique identifier.

What is agentID?

This is a 12-octet administratively-unique identifier for the SNMPv2 agent implementing the User-based Security Model (USEC). A management station uses it to uniquely distinguish this agent instance, for example when correlating USM security state across many devices. For example, its first four octets encode the enterprise number while the remaining octets form a device-specific cookie derived from an IP or MAC address.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.6.3.6.1.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> SNMPv2-USEC-MIB::agentID

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.6.3.6.1.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> SNMPv2-USEC-MIB::agentID.1
