snmpAlarmNextIndex

Module: SNMPv2-M2M-MIB

OID (symbolic): SNMPv2-M2M-MIB::snmpAlarmNextIndex

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.6.3.2.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: The index number of the next appropriate unassigned entry in the snmpAlarmTable. The value 0 indicates that no unassigned entries are available.

A management station should create new entries in the snmpAlarmTable using this algorithm: first, issue a management protocol retrieval operation to determine the value of snmpAlarmNextIndex; and, second, issue a management protocol set operation to create an instance of the snmpAlarmStatus object setting its value to `createAndGo' or `createAndWait' (as specified in the description of the RowStatus textual convention).

What is snmpAlarmNextIndex?

The next available index a management station should use when creating a new row in the alarm table; a value of zero means the table is full. An admin's provisioning tool reads this, then creates the new snmpAlarmStatus instance at that index.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.6.3.2.1.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> SNMPv2-M2M-MIB::snmpAlarmNextIndex

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.6.3.2.1.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> SNMPv2-M2M-MIB::snmpAlarmNextIndex.1
