snmpTsmConfigurationUsePrefix
Module: SNMP-TSM-MIB
OID (symbolic): SNMP-TSM-MIB::snmpTsmConfigurationUsePrefix
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.190.1.2.1
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: TruthValue
Access: read-write
Description: If this object is set to true, then securityNames passing to and from the application are expected to contain a transport-domain-specific prefix. If this object is set to true, then a domain-specific prefix will be added by the TSM to the securityName for incoming messages and removed from the securityName when processing outgoing messages. Transport domains and prefixes are maintained in a registry by IANA. This object SHOULD persist across system reboots.
What is snmpTsmConfigurationUsePrefix?
This read-write boolean, defaulting to false, tells the Transport Security Model whether securityNames exchanged with the application should carry a transport-domain-specific prefix that TSM adds on incoming messages and strips on outgoing ones. Admins enable it when they need to distinguish security names across multiple transport domains (per the IANA prefix registry) rather than treating them as a flat namespace, and this setting should persist across reboots. For example, setting it to true(1) lets the same base username be uniquely scoped per transport, such as tls:admin versus ssh:admin.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.190.1.2.1 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> SNMP-TSM-MIB::snmpTsmConfigurationUsePrefix
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.190.1.2.1.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> SNMP-TSM-MIB::snmpTsmConfigurationUsePrefix.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.190.1.2.1.1 s <value>
