snmpCommunityStatus

Module: SNMP-COMMUNITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): SNMP-COMMUNITY-MIB::snmpCommunityStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.6.3.18.1.1.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: RowStatus

Access: read-create

Description: The status of this conceptual row in the snmpCommunityTable.

An entry in this table is not qualified for activation until instances of all corresponding columns have been initialized, either through default values, or through Set operations. The snmpCommunityName and snmpCommunitySecurityName objects must be explicitly set.

There is no restriction on setting columns in this table when the value of snmpCommunityStatus is active(1).

What is snmpCommunityStatus?

This RowStatus object controls the lifecycle of a row in the snmpCommunityTable, governing whether a community entry is active, notReady, or being created or destroyed. An admin must explicitly set both snmpCommunityName and snmpCommunitySecurityName before this status can move to active(1); once active, other columns in that row can be freely updated. For example, an admin creating a new read-only community would set this to createAndGo(4) along with the name and security name in a single SNMP SET.
