Module: SNIA-SML-MIB
OID (symbolic): SNIA-SML-MIB::driveAlert
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.14851.3.1.0.0
Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE
Description: A Drive/Autoloader Alert trap, based on the T10 TapeAlert Specification v3 (w/SSC-3 Enhancements) and SMI-S 1.1 section 8.1.8.25 LibraryAlert Events/Indications.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' SNIA-SML-MIB::driveAlert snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.14851.3.1.0.0
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
Example snmptrapd log entry:
zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:53808->[192.168.30.10]:162]: DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (129783856) 15 days, 0:30:38.56 SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: SNIA-SML-MIB::driveAlert
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB (SNIA SMI-S), SAN storage subsystems/enclosures (chassis identity/security-breach status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Create custom SNMP monitor using the SNIA-SML-MIB::driveAlert OID value, configure state conditions and alerts, and monitor any vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB (SNIA SMI-S), SAN storage subsystems/enclosures (chassis identity/security-breach status) from a single console.
