smuxPstatus

Module: SMUX-MIB

OID (symbolic): SMUX-MIB::smuxPstatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.4.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The type of SMUX peer.

Setting this object to the value invalid(2) has the effect of invaliding the corresponding entry in the smuxPeerTable. It is an implementation- specific matter as to whether the agent removes an invalidated entry from the table. Accordingly, management stations must be prepared to receive tabular information from agents that correspond to entries not currently in use. Proper interpretation of such entries requires examination of the relative smuxPstatus object.

What is smuxPstatus?

This read-write INTEGER (valid(1)/invalid(2)/connecting(3)) reports and controls the connection status of a SMUX peer. Admins or management software use this to see whether a subagent peer connection is currently established, or to invalidate a stale peer entry. Seeing connecting(3) would tell an admin the SMUX peer is in the process of establishing its connection to the master agent.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.4.1.1.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> SMUX-MIB::smuxPstatus

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.4.1.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> SMUX-MIB::smuxPstatus.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.4.1.1.4.1 i <value>
