This read-only enumeration reports the current phase of a software download operation in progress on the equipment. Admins poll this after issuing a softwareActionRequest download command to confirm the transfer is proceeding, has completed, or was interrupted, distinguishing peripheral firmware downloads and configuration downloads from the main image transfer. For instance, the value might read downloading(1) mid-transfer, then move to completed(2), or fall back to interrupted(3) if the link drops.
