What is scmDiagnosticsDeviceType?

This enumerated value classifies the diagnosed device into a category such as input(1), marker(6), fax(21), scanner(22), network(23), motor(41), or memory(43), among others. An admin uses it to filter or interpret diagnostic rows by hardware subsystem, and the DESCRIPTION notes that certain hrDeviceTypes values indicate corresponding rows exist in Host Resources MIB tables like hrProcessorTable or hrPrinterTable. For example, a scmDiagnosticsDeviceType of scanner(22) flags this row as reporting on the device's scan engine rather than its print marker.
