What is scmDiagnosticsDeviceIndex?
This integer, from 1 to 2147483647, is a unique value identifying each hardware device in the diagnostics table, remaining constant for a device across agent re-initializations. An admin uses it to consistently reference the same physical component, such as a specific fan or fuser motor, when polling diagnostic status over time. For example, device index 5 might always correspond to the printer's marker supplies sensor across reboots.
