Description: Control embedded MTA. If disable(0), MTA will not send out DHCP DISCOVER message. If DHCP option 122.1 is missing, MTA is disabled and MIB is set to disable(0). Note: Equivalent of VSIF 54. Note: This object can be set via the CM configuration file ONLY.
What is saCmMtaDevice?
This enumerated value controls whether the cable modem's embedded MTA (Multimedia Terminal Adapter) is enabled, and reports disable(0) automatically if DHCP option 122.1 is missing. Admins configure it, only via the CM configuration file, to turn the embedded voice (MTA) functionality on or off for a given modem. A returned value of disable(0) confirms the MTA will not send a DHCP DISCOVER and therefore will not attempt to provision voice service, either by deliberate configuration or a missing required DHCP option.
