s5EnNodeInactInterval

Module: S5-ETHERNET-MIB

OID (symbolic): S5-ETHERNET-MIB::s5EnNodeInactInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.45.1.6.6.3.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TimeIntervalSec

Access: read-write

Description: The time interval in seconds used to change the status of an entry in the Show Nodes Table (found in the 5000 Common Stats MIB) from active to inactive. When a station has not sent a frame within the time interval represented by this object, the status for the corresponding entry is set to inactive.

What is s5EnNodeInactInterval?

This read-write object sets, in seconds and defaulting to 5, the time interval after which a station's entry in the Show Nodes Table is marked inactive if it has not sent a frame. An admin tunes this to control how quickly a quiet host is flagged as inactive in node-tracking displays, balancing responsiveness against false inactivity flags from momentarily idle hosts. Setting it to 30 would mark a station inactive only after 30 seconds without a frame, rather than the default 5.
