paraNumber

Module: RFC1318-MIB

OID (symbolic): RFC1318-MIB::paraNumber

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.34.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: The number of ports (regardless of their current state) in the Parallel-printer-like port table.

What is paraNumber?

This read-only value reports the total number of parallel-printer-like ports present on the device, regardless of each port's current state. Admins use it as the basis for walking the paraPortTable, since it tells them how many port entries to expect. For example, a device reporting paraNumber as 2 has two parallel ports whose individual status can be read from entries 1 and 2 of the port table.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.34.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> RFC1318-MIB::paraNumber

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.34.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> RFC1318-MIB::paraNumber.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> paraNumber.1
