rsSnmpTrapGlobalFilter

Module: REDSTONE-SNMP-MIB

OID (symbolic): REDSTONE-SNMP-MIB::rsSnmpTrapGlobalFilter

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2773.2.16.1.3.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: RsSnmpTrapMask

Access: read-write

Description: This object provides global control over trap generation by this agent. For each bit position, a '1' or '0' indicates the corresponding trap category is enabled or disabled, respectively.

What is rsSnmpTrapGlobalFilter?

This read-write bitmask provides global, device-wide control over which categories of SNMP traps this agent generates at all, spanning coldStart/warmStart/authFailure, linkUp/linkDown, platform inventory, environmental, and bulkstats/accounting categories, with a 1 bit enabling and 0 disabling that category. An admin uses this master filter to suppress entire trap categories device-wide, in addition to (and more broadly than) any per-destination filtering in rsSnmpTrapHostFilter. For example, clearing the linkUp/linkDown bit in rsSnmpTrapGlobalFilter suppresses those traps globally, so no trap destination will receive them regardless of its own per-host filter setting.
