This value reports the outcome or current state of the file transfer: successful completion, in progress, remote unreachable, user authentication failed, file not found, file too big, file incompatible, or pended. An admin reads this after initiating a transfer to know whether it succeeded or, if not, exactly why it failed, without needing to guess from indirect symptoms. A value of rsFileXferUserAuthFailed(4) tells the admin to double-check the configured rsFileXferRemoteUserName and rsFileXferRemoteUserPassword rather than assume a network connectivity problem.
