rsFileXferRemoteUserPassword

Module: REDSTONE-FILE-XFER-MIB

OID (symbolic): REDSTONE-FILE-XFER-MIB::rsFileXferRemoteUserPassword

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2773.2.23.1.1.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-write

Description: The password to use when requesting the file transfer to/from the remote system. When read, this object returns a zero string. Note that, for security reasons, some ftp servers may insist on a non-zero length user password.

What is rsFileXferRemoteUserPassword?

This value sets the password used to authenticate the file transfer session on the remote system, defaulting to 'anonymous'; reading this object always returns an empty string for security, and some FTP servers require a non-empty password even for anonymous logins. An admin sets this alongside rsFileXferRemoteUserName when the remote server requires authentication beyond a bare username. Setting rsFileXferRemoteUserPassword before initiating the transfer ensures the device can successfully log into a password-protected FTP account on the remote server.
