Description: The date code is an 8-byte field that contains the vendor's date code in ASCII. This field is mandatory and takes the form: YYMMDDLC where YY is the 2 low order digits of the year (00=2000), MM is the month, 01 thru 12, DD is the day, 01 thru 31, and LC is an optional vendor specific lot code.
