Description: Counts Debug syslog messages

What is rlSyslogCountersPerSeverityDebugCounter?

This counter tracks the number of syslog messages logged at the Debug severity level. Since Debug messages are usually only emitted when debug logging is turned on for a subsystem, a nonzero or climbing value tells an admin that debug-level logging is currently active and producing output. For example, after enabling debug on a routing protocol for troubleshooting, an admin could watch this counter to confirm messages are being generated, then disable debug once it stops climbing to avoid filling the log.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.89.82.2.21.1.9
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> RADLAN-SYSLOG-MIB::rlSyslogCountersPerSeverityDebugCounter

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.89.82.2.21.1.9.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> RADLAN-SYSLOG-MIB::rlSyslogCountersPerSeverityDebugCounter.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> rlSyslogCountersPerSeverityDebugCounter.1
