OID (symbolic): RADLAN-STORMCTRL-MIB::rlStormCtrlRateLimCfgAction

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.89.77.12.1.4

Description: send a trap when a storm occurs on a port or/and shut down a port when a storm occurs on the port.

What is rlStormCtrlRateLimCfgAction?

This object defines what the device does when the configured traffic rate is exceeded on this port: nothing, send an SNMP trap, shut the port down, or both trap and shut down. Admins pick trap-and-shutdown for critical access ports where a storm likely indicates a network loop or misbehaving device that should be isolated immediately, versus just trap on ports where they want visibility without automatic disruption. For example, setting this to shutdown(3) on an access port would automatically disable that port the moment a broadcast storm exceeds the configured rate, requiring manual re-enabling.
