prtInputCurrentLevel

Module: Printer-MIB

OID (symbolic): Printer-MIB::prtInputCurrentLevel

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.43.8.2.1.10

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: The current capacity of the input sub-unit in input sub-unit capacity units (PrtCapacityUnitTC). If this input sub-unit can reliably sense this value, the value is sensed by the printer and may not be changed by management requests; otherwise, the value may be written (by a Remote Control Panel or a Management Application). The value (-1) means other and specifically indicates that the sub-unit places no restrictions on this parameter. The value (-2) means unknown. The value (-3) means that the printer knows that at least one unit remains.

What is prtInputCurrentLevel?

This value reports (or lets an admin set, on trays that can't sense their own contents) how much media currently remains in an input tray, in that tray's capacity units; -1 means other, -2 means unknown, and -3 means the printer only knows "at least one unit remains" without an exact count. Monitoring software watches this to trigger low-paper alerts before a tray runs dry mid-job.
